Reader's Night

A recurring community event series designed to bring readers, authors, creators, and local businesses together through immersive experiences that foster connection and community.

The Opportunity

The Challenge

1

There wasn't a recurring community event in the area specifically designed for readers while also supporting local businesses and independent authors. I saw an opportunity to create an experience where attendees could connect over a shared passion, discover local creators, and build lasting relationships.

My Vision

2

Reader's Night was created to be more than a vendor market. Every event is intentionally designed to encourage conversation, strengthen the local community, support small businesses, and create experiences people look forward to attending month after month.

Challenges & Growth

  • Adapted to Venue Changes: Successfully relocated the event after losing its original venue while maintaining vendor relationships and community engagement.

  • Kept a Recurring Event Fresh: Developed 12 unique themed experiences with interactive programming to give returning guests a new reason to attend each month.

  • Enhanced Guest Engagement: Introduced activities and intentional programming designed to encourage attendees to stay longer, connect with vendors, and interact with one another.

  • Strengthened Vendor Relationships: Focused on clear communication, consistent support, and creating measurable value, resulting in a 60% vendor return rate and long-term recurring partnerships.

  • Responded to a Growing Market: As similar events emerged, continued to differentiate Reader's Night through creative programming, community-focused experiences, and a commitment to supporting local businesses.

The Impact

My husband doesn’t read so I had to drag him here. He was surprised that he actually had a great time.
