Game Day Trail

Extending game day beyond the arena and into the local community.

A monthly community trail that encourages fans to explore locally owned businesses, unlock exclusive offers, collect digital stamps, and earn rewards. The program creates new sponsorship inventory, strengthens community partnerships, and keeps fans engaged before and after home games.

The Challenge

Professional sports teams want fans to arrive earlier, stay engaged longer, and feel connected to the community surrounding the arena. At the same time, many locally owned businesses can see little direct benefit from game days despite being located nearby.

The concept can scale to professional, collegiate, or minor league sports, with each organization customizing trail frequency, rewards, and participating businesses.

The Concept

Transform game day into an all-day community experience.

Each month, the team partners with a group of locally owned businesses to create a Game Day Trail. Fans visit participating locations before/after the game, unlock exclusive offers, collect digital stamps in the team app, and earn rewards throughout the season.

How It

Works

📍 Team selects participating businesses.

📲 The monthly trail launches in the team app or mobile webpage.

🛻 Fans visit participating locations.

🔓 QR scans unlock digital stamps and offers.

🏆 Completed trails earn rewards.

🤩 Businesses receive exposure, traffic, and fan feedback.

Rewards

  • Complete one trail: monthly digital badge or bonus offer

  • Complete three trails: merchandise discount or prize entry

  • Complete the season goal: complimentary ticket voucher for a selected game next season

The winner receives:

  • Arena recognition

  • Social media feature

  • Priority invitation for next season

  • fewer home games/traffic = lower sponsorship investment.

Benefits:

  • Larger businesses can sponsor high-traffic months.

  • Smaller businesses can participate during lighter months.
